Bargain Days Inside and OutLebanon Ohio's Old Fashioned Bargain Days

When: July 23rd - 25th, 2009
(Thursday thru Saturday)

Where: Downtown Lebanon, Ohio

Good Old Days in Lebanon with
Old Fashioned Bargain Days and
the Warren County Fair

One of the longest running merchant sponsored events in Lebanon, Ohio is the annual Old Fashioned Bargain Days & Sidewalk Sale. Downtown merchants markdown their spring and summer merchandise and it’s a great time to pick up end of season bargains, shop early for Christmas or just enjoy browsing. This year’s event begins Thursday, July 23 and runs through Saturday July 25th.

Most shops are open by 10:00 am and close at 5:00.  Shops will display markdown items and bargain merchandise on the sidewalks of the historic downtown area. Many will also have special deals inside as well. Some of the restaurants will offer Sidewalk Sale menu items.

This is the 53rd year Lebanon has planned the Old Fashioned Bargain Days. Lebanon ’s historic downtown is the home to more than one business with a long time Lebanon address. The Golden Lamb has been operating there since 1803. The Fella Bella Shop since 1944. The Village Ice Cream Parlor is celebrating their 40th anniversary. The Lebanon merchants are inviting all to come and shop for bargains on our brick sidewalks and enjoy the atmosphere of a great small town downtown.

Traditionally folks like to combine Old Fashioned Bargain Days with a trip to the Warren County Fair. The Warren County Fair (July 20 -25) has been a fixture of a kid’s summer fun for over 150 years. Summer just wouldn’t be complete without a ride on the fancy Carrousel or Ferris wheel. And even the biggest health food nut can’t resist deep fried onion rings, funnel cakes and cotton candy.

As an added attraction this year, the Warren County History Center will offer free admission to its museum to a child with each paid adult admission. That’s a $3.50 savings – a real old fashioned bargain. The History Center is offering a Scavenger Hunt contest with the first prize being a $20.00 gift certificate to the any downtown merchant.

So make a day of it. Have lunch in downtown Lebanon , shop the Bargain Days sale, and then head for the Warren County Fair. It’s good old fashioned fun for the whole family. This is a Lebanon tradition you won't want to miss!
